Victrix Celts
« on: May 07, 2017, 04:00:50 PM »
Has any body got a release date for the new Victrix Celts?
I notice that 3 different infantry sets and a cavalry set are planned.
Do you think a chariot set could be planned too?

Thanks

There were renders on Twitter and celts were planned after imperial romans, but as far as I know they didn't mention release date.
Victrix published renders of greek heavy cavalry, greek light cavalry, elephant and if i remeber correctly auxilia, but I lost track of the order of release. Someone told me that on Salute they told about plans for parthians in plastic too.

Who decided a 6 was good and a 1 was bad anyway?

Parthians would be excellent, cataphracts and horse archers :) .

For the Celts I assume late summer/autumn, though it depends if the auxilia comes before or after them.

Parthians would be great!

Horse archers might be best out of the gate first- I imagine they would be flexible enough to be used for a wide time frame.

Yes yes, Parthians would be nice, but can we 'drool' over the celts on this thread please!  lol

So late summer maybe Autumn you say?
Any idea on chariots?

I shall start a Parthian drool thread after the celts come out!

Victrix take their time to release a kit. The EIR were due in December but turned out in April. So I guessed late summer/early autumn on this premise. Mind you the level of their kits is great, so better wait than get them earlier at a cheaper level of detail - some other companies sadly rush releases with predictable outcome.

Chariots were mentioned once but we'll have confirmation once we see an image from them. Personally, haven't heard of Parthians from Victrix in their fb page.

Can't say I've been able to keep track of the releases either - as said, the Roman Legionaries have been delayed by nearly half a year, so any previously planned schedule doesn't tell us much either.
I suppose the Roman Auxilia will be next, after which the elephants and Greek cavalry may finally appear. The various Celtic sets (unarmoured, armoured, naked fanatics, cavalry) I would expect as subsequent releases afterwards then, assuming they keep them as thematic waves.

According to the list they produce in several magazines this is the order they propose (no dates given)

EIR legionaries advancing  : available
EIR legionaries attacking : available
Greek heavy cavalry : coming soon
Carthaginian War Elephant
EIR Auxiliaries
Gallic infantry
Gallic naked fanatics
Greek light cavalry
Celtic War chariot  (all still in 2017)

some pic included of what is to come for those interested

Those Celts are really nice
I do hope the weapons of the EIR auxiliary are interchangeable with the legionaries.

Why wouldn't they? But why would one want to swap?

I'm looking very much forward to the Celts but I will *really* invest into the Auxiliaries (and the certain Auxiliary Cavalry).
I've had a brief chat with Julian at Salute but Parthians weren't mentioned. Dacians however... 8)

Cheers

Loving the Gallic stuff. And the Romans. It's all pretty damn good, they are in danger of becoming the premier plastic supplier of historical figures - Perry Miniatures beware!  :D

Tempted by the Romans and Gauls, although I will wait until we see some sprue shots, renders always look pretty. My faith in plastics has been bolstered by this company.
