A quick single player game played on 900 x 600 mm board.
The setup - extensive graveyard and ruined mausoleum with 4 treasure bearing crypt locations randomly dispersed within the board area. We used elements of the Garden of Morr to form the basis of the yard with extra ruins and terrain from other sources. Each time a crypt was accessed a random creature (from a limited list of rats 1d6, thugs 1d6/2, zombies 1d8/2 and ghouls 1d4/2) would appear 4" away from a randomly generated crypt sides. In addition, when the last crypt was accessed, Spring Heeled Jack would appear in the centre of the board and try to eradicate the party members. Creatures would also continue to randomly generate at one of the 4 crypt positions on a roll of 16+ at the beginning of each turn.
Although the brave adventures are Victorian miniatures we played a straight Frostgrave game - if the miniatures had a pistol or a rifle we used the archer and crossbowman stats respectively. Spring Heeled Jack had a selection of four necromancy spells to use - Bone Dart, Raise Zombie, Bones of the Earth and Control Undead as well as a ring of teleportation. His general stats were M6, F+2, S+0, A12, W+2 and Hits20 and armed with a sword sharpened to a razor edge to inflict +2 damage.
The board setup.
The party fearing nought, bravely strode forth into the graveyard, guided only by desire for wealth and knowledge.
And with care and determination uncovered the secrets of the crypts.
The creatures spawn forth ...
In droves ...
The "Magician" mumbled some arcane words and managed to control one of the shambling zombies ...
And then caused further confusion by calling forth a thick fog.
But Spring Heeled Jack knew the graveyard all too well, but eventually succumbed to overwhelming odds.
Even one of the thugs failed to escape a boney hand holding his ankles.
Before the party escaped with loot and knowledge intact.
