Lt F. Ocker and his Ockerforce ANZACs had another go at putting down the Jhamjar insurrection.  AAR here:

Looks good!

Is the corkboard bit with red and blue thumbtacks your Force Morale tracker? I might have to steal that for future CoC games and build my own, that's inspired.

I really should get back to CoC, I tried running it in public (at Trumpeter Salute 2016) before I really understood the rules and that kind of soured things. Must pull the book off my shelf and add it to the "to be read" pile again!

I can't take credit for this, I knicked the idea from someone else's website.  It needs a tweak - leave more space to show how many full CoC dice have accumulated!  But much easier than trying to save dice from shifting around on a piece of card.

Bit of a write up on my CoC game aids here:  http://willstoysoldiers.blogspot.ca/2017/04/coc-game-aids-and-more-for-jhamjar.html

As for CoC - it takes a bit more getting into than some other, more conventional rules, but it also rewards the time it takes to learn them.  And it's not that much time - two or three games, I'd say, compared to simpler games that you could completely understand after a couple of turns.

Thanks, folks!  I've been slowly (over a few years) building up terrain that I can transfer between my 1880(ish) North West Frontier, 1920(ish) Jhamjar and 2010(ish) Kandahar.  The story of the bakery is here:  http://willstoysoldiers.blogspot.ca/2016/07/afghan-bakery-and-anp-sangar-pic-heavy.html

TL:DR:  the bread is made from DAS clay with the simplest of paint jobs. lol

Reviving an old thread!

After struggling with Chain of Command (I love the system but can't quite fit in a scenario in a 3-hour club night), I've decided to give Bolt Action a chance.  There were a few benefits to BA, in that it was easier to have a biggish multi-player game and play it to conclusion in less than 3 hours.

Here is a write up on "An Arresting Situation in Jhamjar"  https://willstoysoldiers.blogspot.com/2019/09/an-arresting-situation-in-jhamjar-many.html

Thanks for the report. A good fun game, although I much prefer CoC to BA. But I think you need to play quite a bit of CoC to get fast at a game. (If you look at the Lardies games on YouTube, they are usually about two hours after cutting.)

Thanks, Shabahraz.  Yes, it was a fun game, and I think BA is ok for a beer & pretzels, entertaining evening at the club.  However, I'm going to keep seeking out Chain of Command when I want more 'serious' light entertainment ;)
