Hello, all -
This is for a future addition to the Shanghai, 1930 range we're working on, but I wanted to get a very early head start on it, for personal reference if nothing else. I'm trying to find some data on the appearance of French Gendarmes stationed in the French Concession, Shanghai around 1930. From everything I've been able to gather, this was the most corrupt "slice" of the three divisions of Shanghai at the time (the other two being Greater Shanghai and the International Settlement). I have a photo of the chief detective (Huang, a Chinese man), but I haven't been able to find any photos or equipment data for the large number of Gendarmes (French and Chinese) who patrolled the Concession in the period.
Would be grateful for any data.
For those interested, everything else is going very nicely. I'm not going to commission these -yet-, but I have found lots of good stuff for future waves, including some excellent data and pictures of Shanghai's most notorious gangster at the time, "Big Ears Du". Endless expansion potential here.
Of course, in our version of Shanghai, Du isn't the only big player...*wink*
