Car Wars - Hot Wheels and Matchbox Conversions
« on: May 21, 2017, 08:23:35 AM »
Last weekend I did some quick and easy conversions for Car Wars:

Little more here:

Yesterday I was able to complete another three:

More on them here:

Now just need to paint them!

Von L, those are absolutely excellent conversions!!! I hope you will share photos after you've painted them. I may need to have a look at the rules you mention for a different game than my usual HOTT, as I do like the theme!

Awesome!

Hey, this isn't a complaint because we all use what we got, right?  You can get that diamond-plate in HO scale and it would look even better.  Some excellent use of spare 40k bits.

Thanks guys.

Terry37 - I'm leaning towards Axles & Alloys II (for its simplicity), but Car Wars or any other ruleset would work. They're die cast cars with big guns :)

Maxim - Yeah, I'm still not sure on the Land Rover. I'll see what it looks like painted. (It's not really a scale issue, it is its proportions that seem a little "off" - a little too wide perhaps.)

The plan is to have everything undercoated before the weekend so I can paint them then.

Very nice conversions man! I really love the Republic of California flag. Very nice.

So many good car battle games out there. I play Devils Run myself as my primarry game and looking into AutoKill at the moment.

Thanks (it's actually a New California Republic flag from the Fallout universe).

I had the flags pixilated a bit, to give a 80s/90s vibe. Not sure if I pulled it off.

That Land Rover gave me a flash back. Used to have a blue with white roof back in the 80s  :'(

I passed one in the street last week (also blue with a white roof), part of me now wants to create each of my cars with guns. Is that wrong?

Anyway, for completeness (and not the best paint job/photography), I finished of some 20mm WWII British dispatch motorbikes:
