I think I recognise the 47mm Bohler gun but what is that small thing with trails?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Solothurn S18-1000 20mm anti tank rifle.

Looks like a sophisticated design for something that unfortunately wouldn't pierce a can of coke at 500m! How many of these did the Dutch have?

125 pieces. but only 49 carriages. 35 rifles arrived on the 4th of May. One case is known where the soldiers transported the rifle with a fairly big pram. ammo wise there were about 15000 rounds available. a mix of different variants and makers.

The rifle was pretty effective against the German armoured cars and soft vehicles.

Armour penetration:

100 m / 90o / 40 mm
300 m / 90o / 35 mm

It is often forgotten how feeble tank armour was in 1940, those penetration values could spoil a Panzer crew's day.

The latest figures in my 28mm WW2 Dutch army are a section of ‘Korps Mariniers', or Marines. As with the rest of my army, these figures are produced by Dutch company, May '40 Miniatures.

The story goes that when the surrender was declared in Rotterdam, and the Dutch soldiers came out of their positions, the German commander was expecting a full battalion of men, but was stunned to see only a few Marines emerge in their dark uniforms. He ordered his men to salute them out of respect for their bravery and determination, and labeled them ‘Black Devils'.

More pics, info and history of the Black Devils on my blog here: https://arteis.wordpress.com/2017/06/05/ww2-dutch-black-devils/

Would these infantry minis from May'40 be suitable for KNIL Far East?
