A short game(for Tin tin).
« on: May 28, 2017, 07:15:33 PM »
What start out as quick introduction into Pulp for my son and his friends ended rather abruptly
Simple plot find the fifth columnists and stop their escape.
One informant (with the keys to the truck.)
Two parachute drops(one with weapons and the location of the spies , the second a radio and the names of the spies.) all on a two and half foot square board.
The Prof secured the first chute and plot point. Then Tin tin fell from the roof and then from the ladder leaving the Prof stranded.
The explorers came in from the north ignored the informant, and promptly laid into the local constabulary.During the all out brawl the spies escaped.neither league noticed as they continued taking chunks out of each other. The Tin tin league were simply stood watching his bleeding twitching body at the bottom of the ladder.
Not quite what I had in mind.

That terrain is simply gorgeous, and when does a game ever go as planned?

True but this one went south so fast it felt like I'd spent more time setting it up than playing, They've now got a tent up in the back garden playing Xbox, then apparently a marathon game of HeroQuest .
I'm glad you like the table. I'm plodding along until I've a whole village/small market town.
I only made the roads last night for today's game. Its not as dramatic as it sounds as I'd already stocked up on the materials to build the roads anyway.
Here's a slightly different angle with Calculus stuck on the roof.

Great set up. Is it meant to be a ghost town? It looks like and I like it.
What age were the gamers? Was it an introduction into tabletop gaming or have they had experienced similar before?

lol lol I can't count the number of times that's happened to us. A well planned scenario simply turns into a slugfest because the players decide that's what they want to do!  ;)

It happens. Sometimes the players just want to fight!  lol lol

Superb terrain. Even the humble doormat fields look very nice. Pity the game didn't quite live up to th spectacle.

Michi,
Not quite sure what you mean. If you meant the lack of figures on the table, then that's simply to encourage them to concentrate on the basic mechanics of the game.
If you mean the shabby styling of the buildings, Then that's close to my intention. I've chosen a halfway house between war torn and a fully functioning town. As it tends to be the window cleaners and road sweepers who decide to retire first when lead poisoning becomes an occupational hazard.
It means that I can represent a deprived and run down community,or even a zombie apocalypse.
This way I can add a little bit of texture to tarmac roads,As they only cost Ł2.25p to make(and I over paid at that).

Mason,
The chateau is a disappointment. The only reason I keep it is because my son bought it for me.(because like you it was on my wish list) Nothing is central on its base no doubt somebody will say the off centre placement is to make it easier to separate the floors etc. But it doesn't. Just makes it a pig to detail.
Save your money and hold out for their Tudor mannor house. Much better kit,and far more useful (I've done two on commission lots of work but worth it.)

Mark
