Rankin and Bass IS the Hobbit/ LotR style to me.

Definitely. I prefer that to the Warhammer style, but I'm sure plenty of people probably feel the opposite.

I like the style on these, but would have prefered them a bit smaller and slighter, as it is, they are just a bit too large in my opinion.

Great paintjob on them though.

They look great to me. And yes, very Rankin and Bass, which is fun.

Exactly my thoughts. Both paintjob and sculpts are great, but the models are simply too big. They might work as dwarfs if one is using 35mm humans?

just get rid of the baseplate which is cast on the figures to make them shorter before gluing to a preferred mdf or plastic base?! I think that is the way I will go . Does anyone know something about a release date?

Just saw a Nickstarter is coming in August for Dracula's America. After that?

I've had my eye on these since the first photos emerged a while ago, and I like them. Much more in keeping with how I imagine Tolkien dwarves to look in my mind's eye than any other range I've seen, to be honest. I'll be picking some up for Lord of the Rings gaming for sure. The nice painting on these really brings out their usefulness, I think. Nice work.

[EDIT]: I like that not all the heads are helmeted - those ones with the hoods are very "dwarfy" to me. Excellent.
