Welcome back! They look great and ready for battle!
Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Might be back on the warpath.
One of our chaps is looking to put together a large ECW game for next February, which means we will all start banging figures out again.
I’ll keep you all informed with how we get on.
At least we have plenty of time to prepare, but I’m sure it will come down to a last minute rush again. I think that’s part of the hobby isn’t it ?

As photobucket let me down so much on this thread, just thought I would post a couple of the early photos again,  showing how this all started.

"Banging out" figures probably doesn't best describe my painting progress, but I will have a couple of units done at least by February....do we have a date for the game Bob?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Yes the 'last minute rush' IS part of the excitement.
Who doesn't remember keeping a unit in reserve, not for any tactical reason, but simply because the varnish was still drying.
On one occasion I stayed up late, 10:00pm! Well I was eleven. To paint Airfix French Napoleonic horse teams, so I would have tactical mobility during the next day's battle. Boy did I laugh (not really) the next morning to find I had not used Humbrol gloss Black, but Dark Blue on all the horses.

Bob I hope to sort out some more ECW over the Christmas break.

Warlord plastic ecw cavalry photos.
This unit now has been “raced and rallied”, and actually did quite well, but they were only chasing villagers off the table  lol

Great new additions to your army!
The villagers are extremely useful for many scenarios!
Cheers!

I remember that! The peasants got scattered in all directions like ninepins!  :)

The villagers did hold the cavalry up for a good quarter of an hour!
14 minutes laughing & then the cavalry charged.

Ok back on the case.
After a month being unable to post pictures for some unknown reason, I’m back on the case with ECW.
Here are the pics from a couple of weeks ago.
Trying to get more figuresfinished this weekend.
