watch Tower in 28mm
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:45:23 AM »
Well, it's been a long time, but I have returned again with a new tower.
I used the same basic building materials as usual, foam core, cardboard, craft sticks...some sand and kitty litter.
This was an old build I had shelved almost 9 months ago when it was replaced in another project.
The tower is removable from it's base, and has two floors and guard quarters as well.
I think it would be a stand alone watch tower on some desolate wilderness perhaps.....I may build a warning torch platform for the roof.

Very cool, I love that it has an interior.
Fireplace only on one floor though?  :o

Hey, thanks guys.....
Yeah, boneio, I too was a bit torn about the one lower floor fireplace...but did not want to go through and change the window that was in the second floor space where the fireplace would set...although, I suppose i COULD set a small fireplace off set to one side of the window. I guess they will just have to triple up on the blankets lol

Ah, fair enough. I'm just impressed to see a fireplace, a lot of model buildings seem to omit them despite it being probably the most important part of a living space!

That's impressive work. And with an interior... remarkable.

I have plenty of multi-level ruins and some dedicated interior boards for gun crawls, but I've always shied away from detailed interiors in enclosed buildings. I find them cramped for game play and we never seem to use them enough to justify all the work.

Thanx guys...it is always good to get your feedback here!!

Dentatus, I can respect that, but I just can't will myself to build something that big, and not build out an interior of some kind to give the owner the option to either play, or just enjoy an interior...maybe even just to store some figures or other things related to the game.
Thanx again!!
Cheers,
Carl

Total respect, man. Hope you didn't take my comment as criticism. You did a remarkable job.

Oddly enough, I made a Watch Tower recently too - Just no where near as nice as yours. And there's no interior.

HAHA!!...Oh no Dentatus....it's all good-I am fine with your comment....remember...I asked for feedback...I take it all in and have learned so much from you guys and this site....but I DO love that tower you built!!...it's very cool and has a heck of a lot of character...and would probably afford better game play table space than mine.
That reminds me...I need to put in a place for a standard  too...
Cheers,
Carl
