I think this will work in a number of theatres. Spain, NW-Frontier, North Africa ...
It´s made of styrofoam, toilettpaper and white glue

I'm guessing the rocks have been draped in TP that's been soaked in glue. Which would basically make it papier-mache of sorts.

I crunched the paper, laid it over the rocks and applied a White Glue + Water Mix (1:5 ? ).
