Minairons Pz1A (15mm)
« on: June 24, 2017, 04:40:31 AM »

Here's the diminutive 1:100 scale Panzer 1A from Minairons, alongside a couple of 15mm Battlefront Germans.

It's unlikely to do very well on any battlefield where there are actual tanks to fight, but as a mobile machine-gun pillbox it could be quite useful. I think that for 1940 I should probably be using the Panzer 1B or C, but they all look pretty similar and have pretty much identical stats, so this 1A can stand in for any of them.

They come five to a box; I got mine from The Plastic Soldier Company.

Lovely stuff. How long does it take you to paint a tank and how many do you do at the same time?

I usually do one at a time; I'm not all that fond of production-line painting, though I have done it from time to time, the results are never as good as when I do single models.

Time varies of course, depending on the paint scheme. An overall Panzer Grey scheme takes me maybe two hours, three if I'm painting stowage, markings and commander as well.

Wow!

It can take me months to years to complete some tanks.

Beautiful, Fitz.  I like how you've done it.

And the figure (and I agree with Ultravanillasmurf) to the left is shaking his fist yelling "We wanted a TANK, you guys!!!" :)

Great paint job looks good (as do the figures)!  :-*

With Polish campaign crosses it should really be in the grey/brown paint scheme (in use until late 1940)...

I know that's more historically accurate, but I have a very good reason for not using that camo scheme: I don't like it  ;)
