Yup… it’s one persons collection , completed over decades !

Amazing, really. Would be neat to see a game like that.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Straying perilously close to a board game...but a Long overdue revisit of the Dreadball pitches

In a year and half filled with dispiriting news and developments, sometimes the world whispers in your ear that not all is destined for despair.

A friend who had had a catastrophic health crisis over two years ago that had left him incapacitated made unexpected contact with me recently. I hadn't heard from him in two years, and assumed I wouldn't again. But the world is a funny place, and his hard-fought recovery not only brought him back from the brink, but brought him across the country to the very city I currently live in.

When I invited him over to the house a couple of Saturday's back for our first-ever game, I wanted to get something on the table that I felt we could pick up quickly and was confident would be fun. I settled on my thoroughly playtested adaptation of the Conan yarn, "Beyond the Black River" using my modified version of the Sellswords & Spellslingers rules. This was the first convention game I had ever run, and I've now GM-ed it at several more conventions. We had a grand time!

You can read at my blog about this unexpected reuniting with a friend and our fun time playing a miniatures game together, a hobby near and dear to both of us.

Those are great bases. More visually appealing than straight edged ones.

This is one of my favorite threads on LAF and I always enjoy seeing your dungeon crawl games.

A bit of a weird game, part Galactic Heroes, part quiz,
but mainly fun.

Just got back from our first holiday away (UK) in 2 years, was great to get out of the house. Took Stargrave with us.
When the rain hit took on younger son. I took a new crew led by a Rogue Captain and a Psionicist 1st mate. He took his usual crew however having replaced the dead guard dog from last time with another gunner.
Bribery worked well for me and the 1st mate set up a wall of force to protect his group across some open ground.
On the left his "Wookie Gang" got held by my Captain together with my sniper and rogue wookie pathfinder. A hard fought battle on the right with some amazing shooting from my Runner - Stan Solo and his  Scottish Rodian trooper McLunky meant that cover was very important.
In the end both 1st Mates' had 0 health and it was a draw with both of us having 2 loot tokens (1phys,1 data ) each . No one had managed to get near the central one through a hail of fire from both sides.
