Game of Bloodbowl. A narrow win for my Norse team against some Halflings.

Another game at the local club this time Battlefleet Gothic, a blast from the past that has been years in the making... Evidently, the game is gaining a fan base and now with 3d printing playing is yet again possible. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this game and as GW mechanics go this one is rather streamlined and does not like most of their systems have too many dice rolls. A four-player game of Eldar versus Chaos - I was playing the space elves and was for a change on the winning side...

I nicknamed these two as Fleshy and Muscles - there were two other ships nicknamed Snot and Clot  lol - More pictures are available here: https://frictionbmcminiatures.blogspot.com/2022/10/wycombe-warband-wargames-club.html

Worth giving a try Has.Been - imagine younger players would enjoy it. Posted some more Battlefleet Gothic pictures by one of the other players. I would suggest you also try out One Page Rules TFL Warfleets.

Here is Snot and Clot

Herewith a grid-based game called Portable wargame rules available for free download here: http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~warden/portable_wargame/

Number of periods possible with these rules but my son aged 8 wanted a Napoleonic wargame after watching this:

Well worth watching for anyone into Napoleonic Wars or for that matter thinking of doing so...

Played Blitz Bowl best two of three. Humans v Nurgle. My opponent rolled me up in two games. I think I’ve lost my last 7 games in a row with nurgle. Time to reconsider my approach with this team.

A 20mm AWI game this Wednesday past, using Saratoga Soldiers rules.  The British managed a fairly expensive win...

Herewith an ECW game attempting to recreate a skirmish that took place in Stokenchurch. The site of the village (being on the main London to Oxford road) proved a good resting and changing place for horses. For this reason, in the Civil War, it was commonly used as a resting place for both Royalist and Parliamentarian troops. Being between Royalist Oxford and Parliamentarian London the village is mentioned no less than twelve times in the journal of Scoutmaster General Sir Samuel Luke between 1643 and 1644, and on two occasions (on 5 December 1642 and 17 June 1643) skirmishes broke out when both sides arrived at the village together.

Played as GM with my two sons and since we stayed in Stokenchurch for a number of years we wanted to play this. Game went to my youngest son winning as the Royalists with Prince Rupert managing to break a flank of the Parliamentarian forces.

For some of the history of this battle see: https://www.thisispaston.co.uk/civilwarmap.html

Rules used Victory Without Quarter. 10mm Miniatures by Pendraken, Irregular, and Lancer miniatures.

Also, played an Angelic Host Versus Demons of the Abyss game using own rules called Heaven and Hell.

More pictures of that game here: https://frictionbmcminiatures.blogspot.com/2022/10/golgothas-games-angelic-host-versus.html
