X Wing. Imperials lost. Decimator proved to be a bit of a point sink.

This Friday past, my weekly gaming group did a Warlord Games Epic ACW game.  1st day of Gettysburg - Heth's Confederate Division attacking Wadsworth's Union Division west of town along the Chambersburg Pike.  AAR is up in my ACW thread in the Age of the Big Battalions board.  I won't spoil it here by telling you who won...

A game of Restless Stars using my 40K models during Operation: Hemlock setting.

This was a rather large pitched battle situation as Imperial Troops tried to push Ork forces from the island of Baron's Rest.  Of note, those Chimeras are made of cardstock and printed on a Grey Scale only laser printer using stir straws as barrels.

Fantastic looking games above, especially like the 1917 trench game.

Recent wargame at the local club, Xenos Rampant. This was a 3-way affair with an additional player as the VIP we had to try and capture in the scenario. The game was won by the space dwarves. Crazy game and fun though one should not take these rules seriously, I do generally prefer the fantasy and Medieval variants. The dwarven player had robo dogs which at 4 points were a bargain and proved brutal - let loose the dogs of war... Expensive units in this game never seem worth it and I see many suggesting that tweaking and upgrading units is the way forward but I am not necessarily convinced with stock standard cheap units like xenomorphs doing so well... Though the elite infantry this time did a little better than in my first game.

Herewith One Hour Skirmish wargame playing the Capture the Cannon Napoleonic scenario. Played this with my son who loves the rules with his 1/32 Napoleonic minis he got for Christmas. I think the rules are ideal for young players fast and furious with easy mechanisms and the added fun and simplicity of turning cards. He is now 9 years old. I think the rules are better than the One Hour Wargame rules that inspired them.
