Having watched a number of One Hour Skirmish wargame YouTube videos I thought I would give the rules a try. At this point, I did not own said rules but this convinced me to purchase them, especially given my son's enjoyment and engagement. Competing with computer games like WarThunder makes this increasingly challenging...

Having now read the rules this game was different from the rules as written with the tanks being treated akin to infantry in the rules but as it was a tank-on-tank game this seemed to work. See the Napoleonic game above...

Got to play wargame of Chain of Command - this was now three weeks ago. Good game especially like the initial deployment phase and morale system. Melee hand-to-hand combat is brutal and I was charged at one point by Italians.  Definitely, one I would play again and good to play a Too Fat Lardies game with people that know the rules. Was therefore smooth quick and enjoyable. I was playing Americans together with another player against two playing Germans and Italians. The scenario being to essentially take the town.

Testing out the Quick Start rules from the recent Battletech Alpha Strike box. It’s a hit and we’ll get the full rulebook.

Battle System's Maladum KS starts 3/15, so I figure I'd show off... something not Maladum. :D

This is Battle System's Fantasy Village set with Ravenkeep's Terra Tiles, with the Lasting Tales (still unreleased) miniature skirmish game.

Maladum is BS's dungeon-themed miniature skirmish game, based on their Core Space mechanics. BS will also have the terrain available, for Frostgrave and RPG's.

Miniatures by Hand of Glory. You can swap their equipment, held to the miniature by magnets!

Anyway, I plan to play a LT campaign, so will show more pics later!

Circa 1513, English and Imperial army attempting to relieve a Low Countries city under siege by the French. A fun 5 player game with impressive 15mm armies.

The Anglo-Imperials had to complete two out of four objectives (- destroy half the enemy artillery, reinforce the city, resupply the city, destroy the enemy supplies/camp).
They failed to achieve any of them!

We used the Pike and Shotte rules (adapted with various changes to stats and adjustments in game to fit what seemed right).
My armies:
- Henry VIII's army (WIP) 15mm
- Ancient Germans (28mm)
- Ancient Belgae (Gauls with German allies) (28mm)
- Massilian Greeks (Greeks and Gallic mercenaries/subjects) (28mm)
- A few EI Romans (28mm)
- Handful of WW2 British (15mm)
- A load of old 1993-1999ish Warhammer Orcs and Goblins

The latest game at the local club, The Men Who Would Be King Ospre, uses Boers versus Zulus. Turned out as a Boer victory despite the Boer units being halved in size from 12 miniatures to 6, the effectiveness of their sharp shooting proved too much for the Zulus. At one point it seemed like the Boers would be overwhelmed but alas it was not to be, especially as the Boer forces managed to get a defensive laager in place before the Zulus could assault in the mass required.

Another entry in the 'poor photos of not-very-pretty' to balance out all these gorgeous tables...  ;)

Finally finished turn one of a mini Battle of the Bulge campaign.
The Germans made two attacks.  The first coming up the road out of the fog didn't go well for them

...and neither did the one coming up out of the valley

I played the Austrians in the Seven Years War ilBattle of Reichenberg. We used the Twilight of the Soldier Kings rules. Found the rules fun to play, but not easy to read and wrap my head around. Notwithstanding that, I had a great time while losing badly. I’m not sure how badly the Austrians lost at the real battle, but I think I probably fared even worse!

The photo shows the beginning of the end, as Prussian musketry breaks the brigade covering the right end of my position…

I was very fortunate to play a second game on the weekend. This one was a WFB Skirmish game pitting Skaven against Chaos thugs in a battle over warp stone fragments in a ruined monastery. My opponent went for a large number of clanrats, backed by a hero, a shaman and a rat ogre. I went with some chaos thugs on warhorses, a few thugs on foot, a mounted chieftain, a sorceror, and an ogre.

The battle turned out to be fairly close, but the mobility from the horses allowed me to capture a bunch of the fragments early on, and the skaven had a difficult task in killing the troops holding them.

The game was a riot, and I am looking forward to getting the chance to play again!
