Galactic Heroes
First game with my friend Chris (who hadn't played any FFOL version before).  Played without traits to establish the basic play mechanisms.

About 3 turns in:
Vila has already eliminated Travis in melee and is about to blow away Section Leader Klegg :o
Cally has been wounded by a Federation Trooper hiding in the lift.
Meanwhile, Avon makes his way across the landing pad to jump Servalan....leaping into melee  ;)
Blake and Jenna lurk, before eliminating another Trooper (out of shot)
The Federation lost (badly)
2024 Lead Tally: Acq: 013 Ptd: 055  Total: +042
2023 Lead Tally: Acq: 560 Ptd: 056  Total: -504

The Emporium goes 'old skool', the Battle for Hangman's hill, 30mm Spencer Smith Miniatures, and rools on one side of A4 paper!

Excellent. How did Chris enjoy FFOL GH?

Seems a perfectly logical ending Blake would be stuffed with out Avon .( everybody knows that  ;D cor thats a blast from the past. You use to hear that argument all over the place from play grounds to buses.)

By his own admission Chris isn't a massive fan of skirmish games.  However, he did enjoy GH (winning always helps!) and we will be playing again using traits.  This was a pure shoot-out to learn the basics, but I think a scenario driven game will bring out the best.   The card mechanism works very well with plenty of tactical options, which the traits will expand upon.  Having the custom card deck really helps, as it saves having to remember which are the special cards.

I have found it interesting trying to match known characters with game traits for next time; the rules seem to be a good 'tool-kit' for customising a crew to your specific genre/personal preferences.  The next game will see if I have got it right.

Seems a perfectly logical ending Blake would be stuffed with out Avon .( everybody knows that  ;D
That's the trouble with heroics, they seldom run to schedule.   ;)

Another venture into the Peninsula with Rebels and Patriots, these three photos show the 4x4 foot battlefield and two 28point forces. Similar to our first game but introducing Light Cavalry and artillery.
Lt Pepe Le Pugh having been captured in the first game had been quickly  exchanged for two of Lt Hugh Jarce's fox hounds who had gone running off into French lines during a hunt.
It was Lt Jarce's turn for a little bad luck in this game being carried from the field unconscious having been hit in the head by a spent musket ball (in turn three 😩)
And with the French Grenadiers capturing the objective near the end of the game it was a French victory.

Nice table and some good looking forces.

Might be time to rebase the figures to match the table though  lol
