A "wet" team takes care of business by the dark of night in Northern Gambola in 1993, this Friday past.  28mm game using Osprey's Black Ops rules.

The full AAR is up on my "Modern Stuff" thread...

From a recent weekend visit to a mate in Bridgend, we did an AWI game on the Saturday. Cornwallis attack at Brandywine again. This time I was the British.

On the Sunday we did a CoC game Busting the Bocage.

I'm testing out yet another set of homemade skirmish rules, 7 pages long but only 3 pages are needed for a normal game of combat.  Of course I've labeled them...Dubar's WW2 Skirmish Rules!!! BWAHAHAHAHA

3'x3' playing surface, back to using dice vice cards.  Took quite a bit out of the Rogue Warriors and One-Hour Skirmish Wargames rule sets to develop my own set of rules, but I'm still using percentage dice to determine hits, based on distance, movement, visibility, and cover.  So far I'm pleased with the rules.

This encounter has a small, 6-man squad of British paras attempting to take control of a villa and the surrounding area (in Sicily), manned by a 10-man squad of regular Italian soldiers, both sides are plastic figures from Warlord Games.

So far the paras have 3 men wounded, trying to patch themselves up and rejoin the fight.  The Italians have lost 2 men so far, with an additional 2 also wounded and in needed of attention.  The main (4-men) British push is attempting to go behind the church and get close to the villa, but there's a Breda gunner in the second floor of the 2-story house just beyond the church and across from the main objective.  The 2 others are in/near one of the small houses in the foreground, trying to keep the occupants of the villa pinned down, but the 4-man team is in trouble.  Currently on turn 6 with no turn limits.

First photo is looking from the Italian end, you can just make out the 4-man para team, 3 of which are tending to their wounds.  The next is a closer view from the Italian end, better showing the situation the paras are in.  The final photo is from the para end, showing the 2-man support team attempting to draw fire away from the other paras, 1 is in the small house while the other has moved towards the villa side of the road, after dropping a soldier who was guarding from a position on the wall.

The crow flies at midnight

15mm American Civil War action (the last phase of the fight in the Wheatfield at Gettysburg), using Valour & Fortitude.  The full AAR is up on my ACW Stuff thread on the Big Battalions board.

Nice French Indian Wars, I hope to emulate you in a few weeks time.
I agree with you about Reb&Pats rules. I also don't allow skirmishers
to 'full' fire, but only...skirmish. it suits them better I feel.

Taking the quick-play "Zombie RV" rules out for a test ride...

The game is co-op or solo. My girlfriend and I split the four survivors between us and got my recently-painted zombies on the tabletop. My die rolls were awful, which led to poor shotgun-toting Mophius being killed.

Fun time, even though I would count it as a "mission failure" as three of the four bolted off-table. Read the full report on my Lead Legionaries blog:

James said that Michael (Dan Mersey's co-author in R&P) played it that way, so we thought we'd give it a go
