These are the deployment pictures from yesterday's practise WFB 8th Ed battle for my newbie 13 year old son who is thinking about joining our campaign as the halfling regent of Verezzo, Barone Iacopo Brunetti. His army (currently an NPC force) contains both men and halflings. He needs to learn the rules, and get used to his army.

We learned that the Verezzan haflings are great archers, but very poor fighters. Luckily he had over 70 halfling archers!

The practise enemy is an old iteration of the Tilean mercenaries known as the Compagnia del Sole. Tough hombres!

Here my boy's rangers were acting as scouts, led by the infamous brigand-turned-loyal-soldier Roberto Cappucio, aka the Pettirosso.

The Battle of Kadesh?

I am using my 6mm Baccus models to try to re-fight the Battle of Kadesh.  Check in and see if we are even close!

This probably won't be the last time we try this scenario out.

Another foray into the Plumbrook Exclusion Zone (my post-apoc setting).  6 player scrum this Saturday past.  28mm, using Fistful of Lead, with a bit of Zona Alfa thrown in.

Scenario info and full AAR is up on pages 12 and 13 in my "Post-Apoc Stuff" thread.

Capn Jim kindly posted pics from last Saturday's game at his Toy Box. Here was the Friday night one, a Remember the Alamo play test for a regional convention.

More Fistful of Lead. Two rival gangs are on the hunt for the legendary treasure of the notorious bank robber, Possum Gus Guthrie. The loot is hidden in a rugged, hilly area and scattered across multiple burial spots. Both gangs must search the terrain for clues to locate it. To complicate matters, the treasure lies in the heart of sacred Native American hunting grounds, and the locals are far from pleased with these trespassers. Their goal: drive the intruders out.

At the age of 65, one learns a balanced, evaluative style of leadership which weighs the risks and seizes opportunities, leading to a high probability of victory. Here the forces of Shi Huang Ti of Qin defeat the upstart Ming Xu of Han at the battle of the Wan-King pagoda today.

Figures are Newline and FoGG 10mm.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

What do you do when the rules (in this case the new supplement for Five Leagues from the Borderland) throw you a curve ball (in this case pirates raiding the ship the team were travelling on)?  You improvise  lol
