Start Collecting Tyranids box set. Whats the points value please?

Just starting out with 40K, I'll be using the new 8th edition, and I'm looking at Tyranids!

My plan is to buy the 'Start Collecting Tyranids' box set and use that as a starting point for a 1000pt army, this will then grow to 1500pt and then upwards.

my question is how many points does the 'Start Collecting' box comprise of, can some please tell me?

It consists of a Hive Tyrant, a set of three Tyranid Warriors, and a ten-strong Gargoyle Brood.

It's just under 270pts, but will increase as you add weapons to the Tyranid Warriors, and the Hive Tyrant, as well as biomorphs on top. After a quick tot-up with "typical" weapons, call it about 350pts average?

Yeah. Depends hugely on how they're equipped.

Naked 260ish points, you could probably add another 100 to 200+ depending how you build them.
