One of my new years resolutions for 2019 is to overcome my aversion to painting horses. And I plan to do that with confrontational therapy by painting lots of horses.

And in stead of starting a whole new thread I will put my first efforts into this thread. As I figure that most of the infantry I have painted for Baltic Pagans can go as early medieval infantry. So without further ado - here is my first unit of knights.

I am glad I am not the only one.

I really don't know what it is with painting cavalry that is so off putting. Maybe it is just as simple as the fact that I have to paint two models in order to have one finished model.

But I must say that having an airbrush greatly speeds up the painting of the horses. For these ones I have not even picked out the bridle in a different colour. Just given it a bit of a drybrush. And I really should go over it once more. But it will have to do for now. Baby steps...

For me it’s that there is just so much mass to them that I’m tended to overhighlight so they look like zebras or underhighlight so they look like shadows  :-[

Oh that is definitely an issue for me as well. But an airbrush really helps with that issue.

ABSOLUTELY stunning project. Hope you dont mind me saving the pictures of your castle for references. How do you store it by the way?

Not at All. Storage is a bit of a hassle. I have made plans for some custom shelves for it but not gotten around to actually make them yet.

Outstanding work Dr. Z. Now, who gets these fine knight I wonder? The fuzzy pagans or my splendid Danish force?

I can see you have promised an AAR earlier in this thread. It might be time for another go at our scenario so you can make a proper one.

Best of luck with your new year's resolution

Erik
