28mm submarine

Hi all....me again with another repurposed project.
Materials consist of cardboard, foamcore, plastic tubing, dollar store sunglasses,toothpick sections, and sewing snaps.
I figured it could be used in pulp or even post apoc...this is #2 of an ongoing series of submarines. I kept it pretty generic so as to be used by any country or power sector. Submarine #3 is in the post apocalyptic tales forum if you would like to compare them, as both are similar in style, but different in some detail execution.
Please let me know what you think...I relish ALL evaluations, good or bad...need both to learn the correct path right?

The only thing that looks little off are the radial rust lines on the side pieces, maybe subtle them down a touch?

very nice, 2 questions; what on earth are sewing snaps? And the dollar store glasses, what parts are they on the model?

@solado....sorry, the sewing snaps are what i used for the hatch and cannon "wheels"...they are actual snaps that would hold, say, a shirt together instead of buttons....and the dollar store glasses are the main hinged part of the dive planes on the bow.

Great idea to use those (i've no idea if those things have another name so snaps they will be from now on for me also) snaps, i am going to filch that idea for my own projects.

same goes for the use of the glasses to make the diving planes.

I like it. I am in the process of building one slightly more compact  from the inverted body of a toy gun, of all things. I had abandoned it for a bit  but seeing this has made me enthusiastic again

An interesting build ,although a little to large for my storage. It did inspire me to pull my thumb out and build a slightly smaller one though.
Vodkafan quit slacking !( I chucked one together this afternoon).

I'd have to agree with James's comment.A little adjustment might help. At the moment they have a slightly uneasy feel of a spectacle case. A little additional rust or sharing where they meet the body would cure it.
I do like the use of 'Press studs' for hatch covers.

All in all a build to be proud of.

Thanx guys!!!!...I did take James' statement to heart and made the rust marks on the ballast tanks a bit less noticeable by painting over them a bit to get them a bit more subtle...I'll post pics when I get home from work...Mark, I think I will modify the ballast tanks on the next ones to be a bit more on the narrow side as well.
