1960s Cubans
« on: July 16, 2017, 03:38:37 AM »
Of the 1960s Congo I have my mercs and Africans but need a few Cubans, already have the Che figure in 28mm. I have not found any on the list, recommendations very welcome.

The Cuban contingent seem to have used FALs almost exclusively in the Congo. Mongrel Miniatures had some suitable beret and Ridgeway cap wearing troops with FALs in their Congo range. Badger Mininatures are supposed to be re-releasing their ranges.

Failing that, head swaps of Eureka's ZALA guerillas with their Brits for Aden would work, more or less. Maybe file off the trouser map pocket and the ammo pouches.

Thank you Carlos. I wish they were easier to deal with and view their products properly.

HerbyF yup have that fig, but a single fig does not make a unit. Kind of goofy pose but will have to do.

Sorry that you thought there was a problem with your website, never have had one. It's the Mongrel/Badger figure line that is un-viewable  and has been for years. It is a shame because they have some great figures.

Apparently they are re-launching and a revised website will follow.

What is it that you have in mind for the 'look' of them? I'm thinking about adding some Cubans layer this year to our Wild Geese inspired lines, but still at concept stage for the moment.

Dan I would like to see a command group- officer, medic, comms,  four troopers, a 50 cal mg team, and mortar team. That is quite a bit for a 200 man force but it enables us to easily form all four Cuban units. I have nothing to offer for the US Cuban force.

This was their latest comment on TMP -

We just got back from the CON. Our site is in the final stage of completion and will be up and running within the next few weeks. Mongrel is only a portion of it.

In the meantime, email fromthebadger at gmail for further information.
