Crom!, Frostgrave, SOCOM & Sorcery, and more...
« on: July 17, 2017, 03:51:07 PM »
Went to Historicon last weekend, and took lots of pictures of a variety of games. It was my first gaming convention, and I wrote about my experience on my blog, Scrum in Miniature:

The table on which we played Crom!

An amazing table for the Frostgrave game.

The excellent DAK & Dragons game.

James,

It was pretty amazing. Lift the roof off of any building and you were apt to find some cool scene within. I took a ton of pictures of that city and the Frostgrave set up and posted them on the blog.

The Crom! one was definitely done by my buddies from NC.  Bryan and Kyle and his crew.  I've played some games on that terrain before - even run Shoot N' Skedaddle on it.

It's mostly stuff from Miniature Building Authority - they run a heap of games on it.  Victorian Sci-fi, Crusades, Old West, etc.  Brilliant stuff, always a good time.

Elbows...

Yep, I think they ran a few different type of games on that table over the weekend, rearranging and repopulating it as necessary to suit the time period. I was amazed, though, at how Conan-specific they managed to make it with all of the incidental miniatures and scenes going on across the entire table and inside all of the buildings. It truly felt like a bustling city and not just a bunch of buildings on a table.

Yep, indeed.  They have crates upon crates of animals, burning LED indicators, different stalls, trees, wagons, carts, etc.  It's a massive collection and always nicely suited to the game they're running.

Yep, though the game master used his own modified version of that rule set.
