I acquired a 'Judge' miniature from Artel W Miniatures a few months ago. He was primed and ready to go at the end of 2021 but I didn't want to rush painting him as he's pretty detailed.

I imagined him as a doddering and potentially inebriated Imperial Noble, using his lineage to curry favor and spread his family's influence. I used some decals from Forgotten Chapters, along with some freehand for the tree.

I based his color scheme, and the scroll he is holding, on the Earl of Squanderfield in "The Marriage Settlement" by William Hogarth. He's using his family tree to seal a marriage contract involving his rakish son, so that he can get the money to finish his grand mansion in the background.

This is all very inspiring and slightly mad - love it.

The wheeled rhino on page 14 takes the cake - such a great idea and it looks so right - I am surprised no one else seems to have done similar...

Thanks all. Fun mini to paint :)

I added some more oddities to the 40K project. A Reaper Chronoscope that seemed to be a good stand in for a Rogue Trader, and a Tau Xenos Servo Skull to go along with the Ork and Kroot.

I made a few more paintings for my backgrounds, using embedded magnets and magnetic sheet for the paintings. I found some pictures making rounds on the internet a couple years ago... actors Photoshopped into paintings of Russian generals. They seemed to work for Imperial Navy portraits. I ended up making my own Lt. Ripley, as there were no badass females in the lot. Picture frames were printed on my Mars2Pro.

More on the way, I've been very lax in my posting!
