Lovely rebooting!
 :-* :-*

These Wraithguard are one of the few things that I did not have back in the day.
I may have to grab a couple as I really liked them.

I would recommend the new ones, not all plastic GW models are better, but the new Wraithguard/ - blades are a huge step above the old metal ones...

Yep, the new Wraithguard are fantastic kits.  I remember wanting Wraithguard badly in high school, but they were maybe $8-10 a blister (for a single model), so at that point the idea of a $50+ unit was beyond me.  I "think" I ended up with three metal ones and I may have tried to run them at some point.  The new plastic kit, while being annoying to assemble is an excellent kit --- it matches the aesthetic perfectly.  Just skip the swords and axes (a design decision I really disagree with).

I mounted my new plastic Wraithguard on 30mm bases.  I'll probably end up with at least one more set of five.

Thanks for the pointers, chaps.
I only want a couple for my skirmishing pirate band, though, so I shall see if they can be found in singles somehow.

Yup, the yellow is actually dead simple, spray primed Averland yellow, primed again from the top with white. Then the yellow shade from Citadel.
Most of the yellow was then finished, I only had to edge highlight something and put some highlights on the raised gemlike spheres.

The gun took longer then all the yellow! Whole mini was finished in around 1.5 h.

The only thing I skip (as I really don't like it) is the weird vane coming out of the back of the head.  I think it's a useless aesthetic add-on, but other than that they did a really nice job of updating the models without changing the aesthetic much at all.  A bit larger, but that's just the sign of the times.  If you need singles they exist on eBay for $$$, however you can find the metal ones pretty cheap.

:o I was thinking the same yesterday and chose one of the smaller ones!
Maybe I skip it on the next one.  ;)

Craftworld Ulthwe Wraithguard. Classic metal casting!
Even the bases are the old 25mm slotta ones... Back from the days were the only round GW bases were 25mm in diameter.
;)

Wonderful repainting.
I know I would be very happy with your early paint jobs.
Now I want to dig out my old stuff
I know they are in my garage somewhere.
Just have to go  find them.
That might take many hours to do.  lol
