28mm Sword & Spear Crusades
« on: August 01, 2017, 09:25:17 PM »
Last game of the Club year. 28mm Crusades match up, between the Byzantine forces (700 points) with a mercenary Outremer force (300 pts) against the Muslim forces of Seljuk Turks and an ally force of Fatimids (500 pts each). Using Sword and Spear rules. We got in 4 moves in two hours due to chatting, as it was a very relaxed game. Muslim force and the 300pts crusaders are part of an ongoing 3 year painting project, which is coming to it's end. Forgot to take pics after turn 2

If it isn't enjoyable, it isn't gaming!

What a spectacle! Really a great collection!
And the desert game mat!  :-*

Brilliant, 1000 Points! How big was the table?

Can always tell it's a good game when you forget to take photos.

12 foot long, and turn 3 got a bit intense but ended up as a stand off!

Your armies look great on the table Phil. I have been following your painting here and on the Warlord forums- it's great to see them all laid out for battle.

Camels?

Impressive! Great armies, looks like a lot of fun. I'd like to try those rules in the future too. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing armies, especially the massed cavalry, I love the variety of clothing, shields, horse colors, etc. Most impressive.

Camels are certainly a goer for Muslim armies during the crusades, well the early crusades anyway.

Quite agree some Arab tribes would have used camels in peace and war, and why not,it is "the ship of the desert" after all. Most rules have an allowance for camels in the lists and rules.

I think Fierce Kitty lol, has a phobia of them!
