New life for the Firefly 'Verse'
« on: August 01, 2017, 05:38:13 PM »
To quote Mal:
神聖的睾丸 - "Shun-SHENG duh gao-WAHN" !!!

Saw this a minute ago... looks like an interesting game.  I'm glad to see one of my favorite sci fi shows coming to the tabletop.

My goodness! gale force 9 finally realised that this is what people wanted from a firefly tabletop game all along! :D

never trust a horse, they make a commitment to shoes that no animal should make.

This looks cool. I may well be tempted, depending on the scale and quality of the minis.

I wasn't aware of this, thanks for posting!

If the scale's right, those models are very tempting. Hopefully there's a little variety in the other 10 they haven't shown too - maybe a few alliance troopers? Some reavers? A few shady types too - could be lots of use for various games! The cardstock terrain looks pretty versatile too.

I'm excited to read the rules actually - the existing game this company released is a lot of fun.

I'm stoked.... the more I think about it, the more I imagine the gaming potential.... train/bank robbery scenarios, reavers, alliance troopers (though if the scale is right, the icarus miniatures alliance troopers are perfect, or even rebel mini SST Mobile Infantry would work in a pinch), bounty hunters, I could go on...
oh the possibilities...

The "Five Parsecs From Home" rules and campaign really is Firefly already.
The names are different, of course, but the feel is there.
Basically, you find a crew, find a job, and keep flying.

I'm definitely interested, as I've been plugging away on a firefly project for quite some time now. I do like the casual/in action poses, as well as it sounds like not every battle is an immediate gunfight.

Rebel minis Mobile Infantry are perfect for Alliance feds given the same costumes were used. Although when I was watching serenity the other day there were some extra heavy guys with full face plates which were more advanced looking.

Particularly interested in reaver miniatures, as I have yet to find a good proxy. (Am aware of SMM space cannibals but the sculpting isn't really to my tastes).

GF9 can take my money and take my land.

Also another shout out for Five Parsecs, great little rule set

I may well be tempted, depending on the scale and quality of the minis.

The "casual" versions especially would be good for scifi civvies. I only had time for a quick peruse so didn't find a mention of the scale and I can envision it to be something not related to 28-32mm. Plus of course you won't be getting any of those without the full accompanying box that'll drive the p&p costs up.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one, hopefully it won't be too expensive on this side of the pond.

If the dice are standard, then the figures look to be 28mm to 32mm. Hopefully they're plastic, but I suspect they'll be restic. It'll be interesting to see what the rest of the crew look like, and how much it's going to cost to get them.

I picked up the GF9 customisable ship box sets dirt cheap a couple of years ago, must do something with them at some point  ;D

I've been thinking of buying into the Firefly board game for some time now; I've played it several times at a mate's house and I love it. I can imagine this game slotting into the board game; whenever a confrontation has to be played out, refer to the miniatures game.

That will make an already lengthy game an entire weekend affair though...  ;D

Still interesting, and who does not want the entire Firefly crew in their collection eh?

Hopefully there's a little variety in the other 10 they haven't shown too - maybe a few alliance troopers? Some reavers? A few shady types too - could be lots of use for various games!

Text states 5 cowboys and 5 thugs.

And I can discern 2 different opponent mini poses in the picture. But they're both brown, so perhaps of the same faction and  the other faction gets two sculpts too?
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...
Find a Way, or make one!

I love the sound of this!  Coop minis game?  Firefly?  Innovative mechanics?  Includes terrain? If this lives up to its promise, it could become my main game.

Sounds promising and the content of the box will be useful for all types of sci-fi games.
