Love the clever use of the GW boards on page 1. Does look like fun.

The second to last week of the campaign saw two battles in the settlement of Down over gangs that had captured Holroyd, or at least thought they had.

The first was a clash between the Golden Dawn Mining agents and the Goliaths.  The Golden Dawn had taken Holroyd and were keeping him in a safe spot they occupied in Down until they could get him safely on the path to Hive Primus to collect their reward.

The Goliath's got wind of this and decided to try to take him back for themselves.

The invaders were able to make it a decent distance into the gaolers territory before the sentries set off the alarm.

After that it was a wild close quarter gun battle with the Golden Dawn managing to get the Goliaths to pull back and ended up with who they thought was Lord Holroyd.

Meanwhile the Orlocks were determined to stop the Van Saar from bringing Lord Holroyd to outskirts of the city and getting away with him.

The Orlocks were pretty much outgunned at the start of the fight, losing a number of fighters to serious injuries from the lascannon and fast moving las carbines, but then they managed to get to grips with the enemy and started tearing through their forces.

The Van Saar leader was only saved from a savage mauling by Winston the cyber-mastiff when one of the other Van Saar leapt in to get the two parted.

Another Van Saar ganger was not so lucky and suffered some serious injuries from the metal fangs of the Orlock pets.  Yet another Van Saar ganger was pasted with a number of bolter rounds and dropped.

Still the Orlocks could not keep up with the fire from the Van Saar and slowly started losing more and more of their gang.

Both sides were looking at bottle tests on the 4th round but only the Orlocks lost faith.

Still some of the gang hung on and managed to do long enough that the Van Saar bottled as well.

It became a battle of attrition, both sides trying to keep their nerves as the bullets and las blasts flew.

The Orlock Arms Master, who had taken over leadership of the gang when "Slits" Gorram died at the hands of a frenzied Cawdor, managed to knock a punk-ass Van Saar off his glider.  He engaged in a brief gun battle with the Van Saar but eventually decided to pack the whole thing in.

At the conclusion of both battles we rolled to see which was the real Holroyd and it turns out that the Genestealers were better at recognizing the Proprietor than the Van Saar were.

So next week they will try to make it back to Hive Primus and claim their 100,000 credit reward for the capture of Lord Carious Holroyd.  Of course every other gang is going to be hot on their heels to try some last minute maneuvers to get him for themselves.

I really loved your back story. I was sucked right in and felt a little twinge of disappointment when it ended and I remembered its purpose as a lead in to your campaign.

That is fairly impressive. Congratulations.

yes, really well done.

This was the last game in our campaign. The GSC had managed to capture Lord Holroyd. They were trying to get him back to Hive Primus as quickly as possible to obtain the 100,000 credit reward.

Unfortunately for them the Van Saar and Cawdor gangs caught wind of what they were about.

They gave chase.

After exchanging fire for a while one of the GSC trucks was just about out of crew.  In desperation the Abominant leapt out of the truck in an attempt to board the Cawdor skiff.  His foot caught on the gunwhales and arse over teakettle he went into the Ash and seemingly out of the game.

The Cawdor set him on fire as they drove past just to be sure.

Eventually the pursuers ran them down. One of the GSC trucks was carjacked by a Cawdor juve while the other one, the one with the prize, was driverless while the GSC leader was firing out the back until he got taken out by Van Saar fire.

A Van Saar ganger managed to pluck Lord Holroyd out of the vehicle at the last second before it crashed into an abandoned oil pump.

The Cawdor then tried to take Lord Holroyd from the Van Saar and died in the attempt.

The Van Saar then carried Lord Holroyd back to Hive Primus and claimed their reward.
