Wow! A great game you had there!
Thank you for the very comprehensive AAR, it was a bloody battle!
And the Polish cavalry was a sight to behold, indeed!
I wish you have many more interesting games with these beautiful armies!

Lovely looking game. What rules did you use? I presume a homegrown set as Grimsby seem to prefer that sort of thing.

Yes the Grimsby WSS rules with suitable amends for Great Northern War. I should also point out that 99% of the wonderful figures were Pauls.

A cracking looking game...

What's not to like about a massive cavalry melee ...

All the best. Aly

Beautiful.  I love the look of the mock 3rd rank of drummers & officers.

These are Pauls figures (MarinerGrim) and this works really well, its an idea I think Paul borrowed from another gamer and which I have since shamelessly pinched also.

I blame Jim Purky from http://altefritz.blogspot.co.uk/ for the basing style.  I wanted a deeper formation for the central pike block but without having to use two different sizes of base.  I think it also suits the aggressive nature of the Swedes with the action poses to the fore and the staff behind.
