Who makes (or made) this beastman?
« on: August 13, 2017, 12:35:55 PM »
I picked this miniature up second-hand yesterday with a batch of bits. I don't recognise him, and suspect he's from "after my time". I don't think he's Citadel/GW because of the lack of a name on the base and the shape of the shield stud. I could be wrong, though. He's fairly big - the Citadel beastman next to him is almost 40mm from hooves to crest, and he's about the same.

Thanks in advance for any pointers to his origin!

I would say it's a classic Marauder beastman, might be from the MM97 range but I cannot find official pictures of that range

It's Black Tree Design beastmen, you can find him and his two friends here. Quite nice minis for this price.

Aha - thanks! Yes, very reasonable for the price (though I got him with at least a dozen others for £2!). Nicer in the "flesh", too, than he looks on the site.

Yes, that's BTD problem - not very attractive pics on their website. Some of their miniatures are really nice, for example older Dwarf or Undead models. If you are looking for alternative Beastmen miniatures you can check also Ral Partha Beastmen here and here.

Thanks for the links! I actually have enough beastmen (Citadel broo and C38/Realms of Chaos beastmen) kicking around to keep me busy for a very long time - but I couldn't resist that fellow (for that price!).
