Of the three hundred "feditori"* of the first group they then chose one for each team of 25 and called them "the twelve paladins", so that they would attack with all their strength the main flags of the enemy.
* first impact/run knights -> from ancient italian "fedire": to strike, to hit, to cleave...
Taking a cue from this excerpt, I did my army for Lion Rampant:
XII Paladini Ghibellni at Campaldino in 1289.
Miniatures: Fireforge, Conquest and Mirliton. Decals (where there are) designed and self-printed.
This is the idea that came to me when I saw the composition of a typical medieval list in LR.
12 is the number of knights needed and if we use a typical composition by "family" in addition to the knight we have: 1 squire, 1 sergeant, 2 foot soldiers and 1 crossbowman.
Which gives me several opportunities to compose a list, with:
12 horsemen (2 units)
12 foot knights / squires (2 units or 1)
12x3 infantry (foot serjeants or yeomen)
12 crossbowmen
