(Mad) Maximilian 1934 - with miniatures from Eureka!
« on: September 06, 2017, 02:15:49 PM »
Hello all!

I couldn't see this in any thread (but apologies if I merely failed to look hard enough) so I thought I'd bring it to the forum's attention:

Post-apocalypse, petrol-powered mayhem - in 1934!

"Emerging from the heat shimmer they come in a roar of sound and fury, the nomad brigands and road pilots. Chrome, dust and rust in your rearview mirror are the first harbingers of impending doom. Then the incessant chatter of twin Vickers fills your ears and your auto begins to disintegrate around you.

It's the Dirty Thirties and you're having a bad day...

Pray Maximilian is out there somewhere!"

Rules are by Mana Press, miniatures by Eureka, so it's an all-Aussie-made affair. Seems appropriate given the inspiration...  ;)

Some page previews, for those with Facebook...

https://www.facebook.com/tribalgame/posts/1848280661853226

there will be a physical rulebook soon, but for now it's available from wargamesvault:

I think my idea for a 1930's Grand Prix game is about to get a little more interesting...  :D
Operating from an abandoned US spy base somewhere in the Australian outback, Miniature Martin produces games and scale miniatures set in parallel worlds, past and future. He is NOT trying to take over the Earth. This time.

Looks fun, but I would have to wait until I can see the figures that will be part of the game.

They have a nice five page breakdown in this Septembers 'Pulp' issue of Wargames illustrated.
The vehicles are floating around on thread or two.
Like Scurv I'm more inclined to buy a hard copy than down load one.
Let's face it,
I'm not going to be one to object to rules needing pulp vehicles ,especially as I've already weapons and mounts available for my own(mind you I'd be even less inclined to object if they'd ask me to sculpt some.😁 )

The minis are great and some of them have a far wider application than the game itself. The 'pilot/driver' figures have application to all kinds of Great War, Pulp and WW2 games and the running chaps in boiler suits have seen conversion to Soviet Factory, militia, German ground crew etc. Plus there's all the useful bits like Scarff rings and various forms of Lewis gun.

About time Nic started promoting this range, it's very, very good.

I can help with that decision-making process... :)

Hey Mark, you should give Nic an email: nicr@eurekamin.com.au   He's always keen for more vehicle sculpts, and he'd probably (hopefully?) get on well with a fellow yorkshireman.  ;)

Thanks Macro,

Those do look very interesting. When will Eureka have these on sale?

Okay,

I found the cars on the USA Eureka under Maximillion not Maximillian.
But, the main Eureka site does not have them listed at all. I am confused?

Anyone after the cars/drivers/bling for Max34, just get in contact with Nic at Eureka Miniatures: nicr@eurekamin.com.au He will provide the pre-release pdf of the range and you can order straight away

All these three-wheelers are just making me think of the "any old iron" bit from Top Gear:

As Scurv said; all the minis are from Eureka. Just to clarify - the pics are not mine, although I wish I already had a collection of these painted to that standard!  ;)
