Great stuff! Awesome paint jobs and conversions on them, I wouldn't have guessed that steel legion conversion was a conversion at all! Your scenery and civilians really give it all some background and character too.

Thank you all for your comments.

Here are a few new items...

Veteran Sergeant

Heavy Weapons Squad armed with Mortars.

Same guys, different angle.

I have one more Infantry Squad I'm going to paint up - to finish the first platoon - then I think I'm going to finish off the first Roughrider squad!

One more Infantry Section:

and that finishes off the first platoon:

well that's a bit more than the first platoon - there are three Special Weapon Squads there - and each platoon is not going to have three of those! (they might have one or possibly two - but not THREE!)

Next up my plan is to finish off the first squad of Roughriders. Then I'm not quite sure what to do next? I do have some other (non-Tallarn) painting projects to work on which I'll probably do before getting back to these. But when I do it could be the Company Commander or perhaps I'll just leap into working on a second infantry platoon.

What I should end up with when I'm finished painting everything I have will be:

Command Commander + Command Squad
2x Commissars (One, or possibly both should be Lord Commissars, if need be)
5x Platoon Commanders + Command Squads
15x Infantry Squads (organized in 5 platoons of 3 squads)
6x Special Weapon Squads (2x Sniper, 2x Melta, 2x Plasma)
12x Heavy Weapon Squads (4x Lascannon, 4x Autocannon, 3x Mortars, 1x Heavy Bolter)
3x Roughrider Squads (9 in each squad)
3x Scout Sentinels (which could either be fielded individually or as a single Troop of three)
4x Leman Rus Tanks (1 as a Tank Commander, 2 as standard pattern Battle Tanks, and one as a Punisher variant)

I'm not entirely sure how these will all be organized into Detachments just yet. Probably, if ALL were fielded at once, a Brigade and a Battalion of just Light Infantry, plus a Spearhead Detachment with the tanks and Sentinels.

At some point I'd like to pick up a super heavy tank, just for fun. (Mostly just because I just finished reading Shadowsword by Guy Haley - darn Games Workshop and their fun little fluff novels...)

I should probably build some science-fi desert terrain. I have a lot of very generic desert terrain - dunes, rocky outcrops, and mud brick houses - that have been used for everywhere from North Africa to Central Asia to Mars and other places beyond!

I had been working on some Roughriders, but then some fuel drums and jerry cans I ordered ages ago arrived allowing me to finish up this first Scout Sentinel Walker. I have two more to do at some point.

I was trying to do these up to look like something like the Long Range Desert Group trucks or Special Air Service jeeps from World War Two - festooned with kit necessary for long range reconnaissance missions deep behind enemy lines.

Hopefully I'll finish up the first squad of Roughriders next.

There are more pics on my blog:

Loads of lovely eye candy over here.
Great conversion work too, creating a lovely looking feast for the eyes.

I've made a few new additions to the Tallarn force over the last month...

Leman Russ battle tank. I wasn't totally happy with the markings on this, so I've since repainted them (see below)

Some of the repainted markings on the Leman Russ - the numbers are on the sides of the bins on the back of the turret and not really visible from this angle. (Oh and a new addition in the works!)

Finally, this past weekend I finished up a batch of Veterans for a Veteran Squad - but could also be fielded as a Kill Team for Shadow War: Armageddon.
