What a great build - and so small as well!!

The sewers look cool.

As to posters and stuff - try google images to see what you can find - almost any image you like will work, as you will be printing it very small.

Do you have some small piece of scatter terrain, to add in to break up the flat areas of the base board? Almost anything would work, drums, boxes, rubbish, pipes, fences. Just small things that 1 or 2 figures can get behind to  get a bit of cover.

Work on the lowest part of my hive continues, I'm hoping to finish the building part somewhere around the end of next week and then it'll be on to the painting...

I've also started sculpting some fauna and flora to bring a little more life to my canals

Big rats and spiders, but nothing any experienced sump dweller can't handle

And some shrooms, one can never have enough shrooms  ;)

I'm thinking of maybe doing some carnivorous plants and some kind of lurking sump-monster to, no idea what that's going to look like yet, suggestions are always welcome.

Cheers,
Stroezie.

Tiny! (but awesome). Maybe a Mantrap or a monster like the Watcher in the Water?

This is SO cool!

I love small scale minis (and terrain) and this is tiny but still detailed. Amazing work with the green stuff!

What size are those squares you've built? 15x15cm?

Thanks guys!

@von Lucky

Working on the mantrap as we speak :D
For the water creature I think I'll keep the Watcher in the water for if/when I do a larger basin but I've found a smaller jellyfish type creature in the Necromunda bestiary that I think I may have a go at next.

@Ockman

the tiles are 12.3x12.3cm exactly but that is because they have to fit in with another build otherwise I would probably have gone with 15x15cm like you said.

I finished building my Nanomunda sump board!

I may have gone a bit overboard detailing the canals  8)

Here are a few more pictures so you can see the build before I blackbomb it.

And now it's time to start thinking about how I'm going to paint all of this.

I'd like to try and go for this look for the decking

Mine won't look nearly as good but hey "aim for perfection, settle for good enough"  :P

If you know of any good tutorials for this kind of thing, please feel free to share, cause at the moment I really don't have a clue how to even start.

I think I'll experiment on a few scrap pieces first and see what's realistic for my skill level.
Hopefully I'll have something more to share with you soon.

Cheers,
Stroezie.

You could try using sandpaper for the surface texture, then slop some glossy washes over everything else with shades of brown, black, and sepia?

You could also try washes, then dripping water droplets on, which might give that effect. This project's very cool.

Looking good my friend,
You good do as Jagg suggested or you good use a technique called wet on wet ,like what I did on my Mesonai vehicles...
Do not be disheartened, though not an easy technique it can be mastered with patience.
Just ask if you want to know how to do it.

http://castrarunis.blogspot.com.mt/search?q=mesonai

Btw that's a superb piece of terrain, looks like pastels or MIG weathering stuff may have been used on it.
Truly a work of art. Do you know where you found it ?

@zrunelord

I like the looks of that. Maybe not for the floor but it would be cool on some buildings I'll have to look into this wet on wet technique of yours.
Btw those Meso nai look awesome, really digging the vibrant color scheme.

As to the example terrain piece I shared, it's by a guy called Shibboleth sadly all his pictures were on Photobucket so now can't be seen.

However if you google Shibboleth Sumptown Chronicles and switch to Google images, you'll see a lot of his stuff.

I had some spare time between trains at work so I started working on my first gang.
The minis are Dark Realm Miniatures Jungle Fighters.
There are only 5 poses so at the moment I'm just adding berets and do-rags to differentiate them somewhat, later I'll probably do some weapon swaps once I get an idea of what weapon loadouts I'm going to need.

Here's a pic of the regular gangers

So shotguns, sword and knife, sword and gun and grenade launcher.
I gave one of the guys with the grenade launchers a sword but I think I may end up redoing that as it did not come out quite as I had envisionned it.

I also did two heavy weapons, a heavy bolter and a heavy stubber, I included the original figure so you could see what they started off as.

After sorting through my leadpile I'm thinking of starting three gangs the Orlocks as seen above, Ratskins and house Goliath.
As I have never played Necromunda before any tips on a good balanced starting force for any of these gangs are more then welcome. It might also help guide me as to what figures to try and model so do feel free to chime in.

Cheers,
Stroezie.

A new meaning to the word small !!!! ;)

Thanks for the tip Stroezie, will look him up.....

Wet on wet is traditionally used for watercolour paintings where the paper is flooded with colour then more colour is added whilst it is wet. So the mix is done is controlled random patterns. On models you do not have an absorbent base so the colours act differently. Try it , it is both fun & satisfying to do.

You can always pm or mail me , off course , if you need help.

Thanks for the offer zrunelord, if I need any help you'll be the first to know  ;)

For the wet on wet, do you use a drying retardant in your first layer of paint or just use 2 brushes at the same time and keep switching between colors as you go? (kind of like wet blending)
