They work well together

These are my insurgents, with a mix of spectre, Empress and a few Eureka mixed in, they all mix and match well

There are 4 Empress amongst these Spectre miniatures, you will struggle to pick them out (not just because they are in camo either  ;D )

First scale image is weird - a figure standing up against one that's crouching and moving ...

... but yes, they are nicely compatible.

I have noticed that the Spectre weapons are nearer to scale, this makes the barrels vulnerable (I have a number of them where the barrels have broken).

Ref' the Spectre weapons, we've got some for our south of the border drug wars game we're planning and yes they are vulnerable but they are nice figures. Even nicer when they get painted!

IMHO, the "big modern three" - Spectre, Empress and Eureka - are compatible not only in proportions, but in operational accuracy as well. LOTS of new companies that claim to specialize in "modern" figures don't know anything about gun handling and movement anatomy!  ;)

I also like very much the Somali pirates from Forlorn Hope, they have a lot of character and can also be used as Indonesian pirates with minimum conversion (I will only add bandanas, cloth masks and parangs to mine).
