Sort of. Aces High was Journey's End transplanted from the trenches to the RFC. As I recall all the combat in the play takes place off-stage, so it wouldn't be that difficult a transition to make.

The success of James Whale's stage production of Journey's End brought him to Hollywood, where he made a film version in 1930.  As Stanhope, it starred Colin Clive, who would later play Frankenstein for Whale in Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein.
