To the Strongest English army Circa 1388.
« on: October 28, 2017, 02:57:15 PM »
After many years of gathering dust in the cabinet I have finally got round to re-basing my medieval English/Scottish armies for our go to ancient/medieval rules To the Strongest.
The original research (about Twelve years ago) was done by myself with the great assistance of Charlie Wesencraft and was aimed at representing the forces involved at the battle of Otterburn 1388 though the heraldry is of Esquires Knights etc who were present on both sides of the boarder during this time and not solely at Otterburn. The following list may help if interested:

I love the look of the men at arms! Great stuff!

That is a mighty fine collection of miniatures.  Very good painting on the flags and especially the heraldry on the men.

The heraldry and banners are amazing, are they decals or freehand? If commercial who makes them please. The minis are superbly painted a real treat :)

Many thanks again for the comments guys.
WB, the heraldry on the figures are all freehand as are some of the banners, but I can't paint birds, eagles lion rampant etc for tuppence, they end up looking like demented spuggies or maimed cats so I replaced quite a few of the banners/flags that I hand painted with Claymore Castings stuff, they brought out a range a few years after I did the original Otterburn armies. Though they don't cover all of the heraldry of knights involved in the battle it has to be said they are very nice.
Dave.
