6mm bases for Rommel
« on: November 09, 2017, 08:15:33 PM »
We've been playing Rommel in 6mm using 60 x 40mm bases. I've done a couple of 'blog posts going through the process of creating 'diorama' style bases:

Excellent stuff there. I'm pretty sure I've seen those elsewhere already. Do you use an electric grass applier? The grass looks so 'puffy', especially so the fields.

Great stuff. My gaming pal and I just acquired a bunch of 6mm figures for playing Rommel and I ain't been shot, mum.

Speechless! Really great and inspiring work! Each base a realistic vignette!
Very well done! Bravo!

Yes, I use a 'Flockit' applicator. It's pretty much obligatory with static grass on these kind of areas I think. And certainly is for the long grass. You need one that shoots the fibres upwards, really. Flock Box or the WSS equivalent are about £40 I think.

Yar, it looks great. A friend of mine and I bought a big old static grass applicator together. It's one of those high voltage things you have to ground before using and such. Haven't touched it before for it scares me. :p
