It should also be noted that in the 30's period there were some truly ridiculously large cars in this style. (see example)  so using cars a scale or 2 up wouldn't look out of place. The Eureka cars were never really designed with a specific scale in mind, more of a style and some hefty imagination. The drivers fit perfectly with Bob Murch Pulp Figures in size and scale, I hope that helps a bit?

The Eureka vehicles were designed with a 28mm figure sizing in mind as this was the standard of scale discussed at the time of the projects beginning.
I can't speak for the Golden Arrow scaling as that was not designed by myself. The three original vehicles were all designed with this scale in mind as previously stated as this was also the best scale to achieve the desired outcomes.

The truth is that the golden arrow was a bit of a hack job on my part.  ::)
The main factors were as follows:
-making it compatible with the existing tires so that the new tires would also be compatible with the old cars
-making sure the already sculpted drivers would fit, a bit of a challenge as the arrow has a very narrow driver area (not unexpected for a land speed vehicle)
-Castability of the parts, with the intent of keeping the price reasonable.
-Modularity for future variants

Thank you all for the comments. I agree the vehicle is a little ostentatious for a simple Puritan but I had this image of Solomon Kane bringing righteous justice to the 1930s.....
Anyhow, I have completed the driver. He's a converted Confrontation mini with a leg and arm swap.

And here he is in the driver seat:

I should be starting on the "official" Eureka minis shortly.

BTW: for those who are interested the "R218" refers to Revelations 21:8........

Great work... went in an entirely different direction that we'd anticipated. A neat twist on the modern fighting preacher.

Praise the lord and pass the ammunition!

Nice! I assume he has a chin strap!

I have just discovered this thread and am absolutely stunned.
What an amazing concept and the conversions are sublime, especially that 'priest' fella.
Inspired!

The model has been finished off nicely.

BTW: for those who are interested the "R218" refers to Revelations 21:8........

I had to google this and have learnt that some bibles don't use "brimstone" for this passage:
http://biblehub.com/revelation/21-8.htm

And I also got all lost in Google for 15 minutes; if Solomon Kane is a Puritan then he would've used the Geneva Bible, which is close enough the King James Bible.

...

So your car is 100% historically accurate. :D

Thank you all very much for the comments.
@Andym: Most of the gold-work is original to the diecast model ( super shiny plastic) with a thin ink wash to pick out the details. The radiator surround was done with vallejo gold, ink washed, re-highlighted with gold and finally highlighted with a gold/silver mix ( 50/50).
@Von Lucky: The reference was to the King James Edition and the fact it would be pretty accurate for a Puritan was purely a fluke!!!!   lol
Nice to see I'm not the only one who gets "lost" on Google....

If he has the eureka ones there should be one with a turret in the rear at some point.
