Pancho Villa and Black Jack Pershing.
« on: November 20, 2017, 01:34:17 AM »
Would like to do a Mexican border campaign featuring Pershing and Villa with a map campaign and small battle/skirmishes using some sort of Pulp rules.

Questions:
  1.  What Pulp rules?  I was thinking about Battles by G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. but is there something that would work better?
  2.  What Miniatures?  Since I am just getting started anything from 15-28mm.  A range with a few vehicles and perhaps
a cheap plastic train would be nice.  Another facet would be western syle figures similar to the folks in the wild bunch
       movie.

TIA

I'd definitely use Pulp Alley -- https://store.pulpalley.com/

Be sure to check out the Pulp Figures range. They have a bunch of cool western style minis as well as a great selection of pulp minis -- https://pulpfigures.com/

If you can still find the rules, Legends of the Old West is a good set of rules with a campaign system. The Alamo includes Mexican troops, Peons etc...

For small battles/skirmishes, I'd recommend The Sword and the Flame.  I am fairly certain there is an actual variant for Pershing in Mexico.  Figures,  take a look at Old GLory 28mm,  they cover the whole conflict, US Army, Marines, Bluejackets etc., plus all the Mexicans ans Federales.

Perhaps it would be worth looking at TmwwbK rules too,see Sunjester's post today in Big Battalions about his game at Warfare last weekend  :)
