About the Sergent Bobillo displayed on this chocolate box : Jules Bobillot enlisted in th 4th Engineer rgt in 1883, aged 23. Quickly promoted a Sergeant due to his diploms, he volunteered for the Tonkin campaign in 84. He displayed a great courage during the Tuyen Quang siege, where he was mortally wounded. he died in 1885. He became a national hero for his courage under fire.
The picture on the box display the same pose as a statue of Sgt Bobillo displayed in Paris, but sadly this statue was destroyed by the germans during their occupation of Paris in 1942.

That book you talked about before is it going to be a uniform guide of the French colonial forces in the 1880's-90's?

not sure exactly ..I have a lot to consider
but will cover large areas you mention!
i have lots of plans for this era..
book wise that is .just need
to find the time!
