Those reference works look amazing! How many color plates are in each book? Is it worth the price?

So, not really color plates, only pencil drawings from that period, photo’s from then from officers, Dr.Hocqaurd, info on Chinese, French, Black flags organization, uniforrms with pictures from collections and firstly lecture, but interesting if interested in the period. Only nr. 1 and 3 can be ordered, due to shipping problems they don’t send to everywhere, so have to contact them. Because I bought the 2 numbers I received nr.2 in pdf, not anymore available in issue.

where and how the chain of the anchor was fixed on the Revolver/Farcy boat?

I thought that obvioulsy the chain would simply go through the hole at the front.

But it seems that (perhaps to prevent the anchor from dangling around?) it was then lifted on the side.

Hello Patrice,
It was mostly inside de boat the fixation of the chain, but I found a picture so that I have an idea.

Yes, but there would be some sort of round winch.

Hello,
Possible for the winch, but no pictures to be found!

Yes I've been fighting internet for this too! There are so many answers that what we want is buried deep underneath. :(

(and I've tried in English and in French)

There must be a winch or something for the anchor chain to be rolled on.
