GA for Conan?

Hey all,

Just wanted to ask two quick questions.

First question,
how easy would it be to port Ghost Archipelago to say the Vilayet sea on Hyboria and turn it into a Conan pirate campaign?

Second,
I've read somewhere that there are rules for ship to ship combat in GA , are these well developed or is it just plunk two ships together, fight melee as usual and here's a rule for people falling overboard?

haven't started playing yet (tomorrow we hope!), so can't say in terms of game-play specifics. I suspect you'd have to adapt / merge / author quite a lot of extra material to get it to play in the way referred to.

I would say that the setting is perfect for Conan 'flavouring' - scenery wise I've been adding some 'purple / black' lotus to my palm tree scatter stands, and am going to introduce a simple little rule about characters having a chance of being intoxicated / sedated etc when passing / near such pieces, together with appropriate wandering monster additions (i;.e. winged ape).

Perfect for Conan, I'd say. Certainly open enough to fit in all the things you need it to do. Wizardry might be a little underpowered in the system if you actually wanted to play a wizard, as the wardens are kind of a wizard-lite. No reason you couldn't mold the Heritor abilities to mimic a spell.
Not too much in the way of ship-to-ship. They are mostly abt getting from place to place.

I agree that this would work for Conan. Were you thinking of him being a Heritor, or of up-stating a warrior type? There are certainly enough melee Heritor abilities to use that if you like.
