Thankyou for that - it is a lot of layers, but the result is well worth it... I do desperately want those figures, though I have no use for them whatsoever... :)

Not if you consider each layer as a highlight.

Just finished number seven. So just Vimes to do. And a few more bases to make as I've only managed to make five so far. I'm Trying to bomb through these as fast as I can .As there's  a fair chance I'll have to a fair bit of overtime on the the next commission.Excluding the two trips to Leeds I've got to make as well.Which will mean late nights and no hobby time. ::)

I finished the eight main Watch figure's. Based and all So decided to Matt varnish them out side.As it was a perfectly warm and dry day.
Everything went smoothly so I thought I'd leave them outside to dry,and toddled off to make a cuppa. Big mistake..

As the window cleaner turned up next door with a fancy new pressure washer gadget. Then promptly set about sending a delightful mist complete with mini rainbow. Straight ovee the fence and with the accuracy of Sod's Law perfectly across the drying figures.

After a brief bought of dismay followed by a slightly  longer sulk.
I set about repair the figures.
The gloss varnish and re varnish. Doesn't work at all on figures this heavily whited out. Normally it's a complete figure strip and start again.
However it is possible to use Biostrip 20 to remove the damaged varnish.  It does take practice to judge how long to leave the paint stripper on.( Roughly the second you finish painting it on.Is the second you start to wash it off.)
Then it's just a little retouching rather than a full repaint.
On the plus side it did produce some interesting results on the leaf litter. So I left a few areas of frosted leaf litter on the base's rather than replace the whole thing.

Aye lad but if George Formby were to be believed, window cleaners are a cabal of voyeuristic perverts anyway. ‘You should see the things I see…….etc, etc’

Lovely daubings btw.

Re: Budget buildings ,or rescaling HO to 28mm (TSG's Workbench)

It's a slow weekend (once I've been to the pharmacy and the post office, and completed the list of jobs from the Mrs   ::) )
So I thought I'd expanded the Homefront town ,which is woefully lacking and needs some more homes.
The board is already a combination of HO, N, scratch, and 28mm mdf all tweaked to fit together. Which is something I get asked about.
So while I'm tweaking this H0 kit to fit in with 28mm.I thought I might as well add the stages of my approach to scale compression here on my Workbench thread.
The figure is 34mm tall including base( I use this one as a reference miniature because its just a little taller than the majority of my miniatures. So if it looks just about right then everything will fit comfortably. )
The original door height is just too small to even work as a small 28mm door .Windows are windows and vary in size (unlike you built it notion of a door size)unless they're already very small in 1/76 then they door suffer in compression.
First step is to raise the door lintel to the height of the top of the ground floor window. Then widen the door by roughly 3-4mm.
Which will give a door roughly 30mm tall. Not quite enough to make it visually comfortable for me.
At this stage it looks even lower. Mainly due to the raw mdf joints.

Should have started with a board pick. lol
The farm is a combination of 28mm and HO card stock.

I have been insanely busy of late from work to family stuff and back again. So I've not had much time to work on hobby stuff .Infact the terrace houses are currently doubling as a pen and paint brush holder.( writing this will probably spur me I into action one evening soon.)
On the sculpting side too much to mention or more over not allowed to mention.
However this one I can mention. It's to do service as a surrogate in multiple scifi genre's or companies out put depending on your point of view.
Feet still need a little tweaking. But its as near as finished .As it's needs to be for a photo or two.

I *LOVE* that face, but he does end up looking jut a hair top-heavy with the bigger head and oversized vest sitting on those legs.

It does look a bit stumpy in the photos it's really compressed him down.
He's proportioned well it's a combination of my crappie camera skills and the strange 'X' shaped webbing belt.( a feature of existing figure's in the range.

I've been cautious of the webbing and plate carrier. As they can have the effect of stumping on some of the original figures.

I'm using what little spare time I have experimenting with some concepts Dwarves.
These are the first four tyring to find a look that works best for unit filler Dwarves or plebs of the dwarf world. They've got separate hands so it's possible to configure them in multiple ways.  The shield has a hand and grip built into the reverse side. At the moment it's possible to make several figures dual wielding and five different weapon and shield bearing combinations.also an empty left hand. Plus all four poses can be configured as bowmen including a separate back quiver. At the moment these four are built to either carry on of the four backpacks/ or quiver. There's also a shield to be worn instead of the backpack. Plus left and right hands holding a flagon( 90% finished) I've a couple more pleb ideas to iron out then onto a command set. Plus a couple of other useful pieces. After which I'll play with sketching out a few more heavily armoured figures.
