does any one make PLASTIC 28mm British paras?
« on: December 04, 2017, 03:35:20 PM »
Or at least, do you know if anyone is planning to do them? I need to some rather heavy conversion stuff on them (replacing the weapons!) and I am reluctant to intervene on the metal ones. Thanks a lot|

Have a look here  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=105710.0 I'm currently painting up some of the warlord ones.

They come with arms attached to weapons, so removing weapons won't be trivial, but much easier than metals.

They come with lots of heads, so you can do all with berets, helmets or polish berets, which might help with conversion possibilities.

Thanks a lot and sorry to come across as an idiot - I have always thought that Warlord paras were metal and not plastic! Thanks a lot for pointing that out!

Not idiotic at all. They produce metal paras as well. In fact the old Bolt Action ones are the original Paul Hicks figures and very nice they are too. No gurning faces and odd proportions, like most of WL's newer metal ranges.

On the downside, Paul Hicks sculpted, the weirdest No.4s I've ever seen!!!

Thanks a lot everyone - really helpful. Now comes the tough one, though: does anyone know if there are separate Italian weapons in 28mm? I need Beretta SMG in particular. And in case you can't figure out where this is all going, here is a clue..

by the way, from pictures I have seen the Nembo paratroopers wore a mix of British and Italian uniforms, so you should also use some WW2 Italian Paras.

Ufff... I don‘t think there are any separate Italian weapons out there, let alone in plastic.

A Beretta SMG should be a pretty simple conversion taking a plastic rifle of your choice or maybe a plastic PPSH -41 and adding plastic rod and a magazine from plasticard.

I love this list, you guys are fantastic. Thanks a million. I never thought about sculpting my own Berettas but now you have got me hooked.. use a plastic rifle for the stock and then add rod and strip... uhmmm

And yes, I could use the lovely Warlord paras for the Nembo, but the "F" Recce Squadron (aka the Italian SAS) wore a British smock with Italian insignia and used a Beretta...at least from what I could figure out...
