Imperial Skies in Miniature Wargames
« on: December 08, 2017, 03:20:00 PM »
While challenging to find here in the colonies, Miniature Wargames has an article penned by Tony Francis of Brigade Models, being a scenario using his Spanish and United States ships for a 'Remember the Maine' battle.

He also has a link for downloadable cards for the Spanish ships.

FYI, MW does appear, intermittently, in some Barnes and Noble stores.

As an aside, has Mr. Fitton given any indication when we can see more ship cards? I don't FB, and he appears to do little other posting.

I will have to check it out, going to be at B&N tomorrow. We are doing Imperial Skies locally.  Have enjoyed the 3 games we have played so far. We have 4 fleets, and I am adding in some ground forces from Tony, as well as a pirate fleet.
I did not like the cards included, so wound up redesigning my own that are a little larger and single sided. This allows for a little flexibility in adding to the game.

Sounds brilliant!

Just out of curiosity, did you know that Scale Creep Miniatures here in the US carries much of Brigade Models lines, especially the Aeronef/Imperial Skies ships?

Might make shippage a tad less, though I'm never sure.

Likewise, I'm sure!

Just out of curiosity, do you have electronic versions of the cards you've done, should you be willing to share?  ;)

I created a card with multiple layers and templates in InkScape. I have a few things to fix that I found when I created my cards, and hope to get that done in the next few days, but yes I would be willing to share when I get them done.

I had to look up Inkscape...

Will be looking forward to what you produce!

I fixed the file up and added a few more counties to the template file.
If you are interested there are is a sample of what the card looks like, and the master template file is included on the page.
You will need to be familiar with Inkscape to use the file and generate the cards for your fleet.
