Alternative Spyrers?

Any ideas for alternative Spyrers? Originals are outrageous on Ebay.  I gave my gang away long ago.

I was told Infinity was a good place to start, but I'm not familiar with that game or if the figures are still available.

Could you refresh our (my) memories of the Spyrers?

I think there were four, the only one that sticks in my mind was the one that at one point had twin power fists that upgraded to claws. You might be able to put one together from GW bits.

Use Horrorclix Predators - their different weapons and gear (even without minor conversions) can represent all gear featured in the OUTLANDERS sourcebook!  



They're very nice plastic sculpts that are easy to convert and can look awesome with the right paint job!

And it makes more sense to use the original Predators than the unimaginative GW rip-off!

There were four. A lightly armoured one with a power sword (Jakara), a winged one with a pistol (Yeld), a clawed one (Malcadon) and a hulking power-armoured one (Orrus). 

The Jakara and the Orrus should be easy. Power armour and power swords are not uncommon in Scifi figures. See the Infinity Haramaki for example. Ko Dali from Infinity is a perfect Yeld. I have not come up with a Malcadon yet.

Yes the space pixies would definitely work for a number of them.

For the Orrus, the Anvil Industries Mega Powered Punchy Fists might help.

Maybe a browse through the Gates of Antares ranges from Warlord might help too.  The Isorians in particular have some of the weird alien tech feel that the old Spyrers had, although you'll probably need to do conversions to get specific weapons.

Alternately, you could just wait for the new ones to be released.  Necromunda's supposedly doing quite well, and there's a good chance we'll see updated versions of all the Outlander crews eventually.  Of course, their prices will still be outrageous when new...

Well that and the Predator is about twice the size of a Malcadon. I have both.

A quick breakdown on Spyrers.

Rich guys in combat suits.

Orrus- big guy heavy armor, two powerfists

Jakara- chick with shield and powersword

Malcadon- stealthy climbing clawed guy

Yeld- winged with lasers on arms

Keep the ideas coming.

Im surprised there have not been knock-offs. I wonder if they will be remade for the new Necromunda.

Absolutely!
4 or 5 guys to paint. No converting weapon changes/upgrades.  Good stuff.
