Here are a couple of buildings bashed together for a 28mm Mexican American wargame.  Figures are Old Glory beautifully painted by my friend Chris.   

Nothing tricky here.  Simple foam core construction, with a little sand paint for texture.

They work very well, I think you have added just enough extra bits to break up the flatness.
