Glory of The Sun #1
« on: April 18, 2009, 02:12:27 PM »
I picked up a few of Mark Copplestone's new range at Salute...
I have about a dozen on the painting table and am experimenting with various fanciful colour schemes to represent French, English, Dutch, Irish, and random invented central European principalities...

Here's the first. He's French, obviously, cos he looks it.  ;)

What can I tell you. Copplestone is the master. These figures are a total pleasure to paint.

(Incidentally, the officer / cornet figures don't come with polearms or standards - or at least the ones he was selling at Salute didn't - so I am using Bicorne halberds, partizans and finials...)

He's quite a dandy. Excellent, up to your usual high standard of brush work. ;D

A figure of real character, very nicely finished, with excellent scenic background - nice work and ta for the photo.

My god, Cap, I can literally smell the vichysoiss...

Very nice, from a great and frequently neglected period. Another fine sculpt by Mark, and an even finer paint job.
